
My name is Chris O’ Mahony, and I provide counselling services at the PsyShrink Practice in Munich and online.
I have a BA (Mod., Hons.) in Psychology from Trinity College Dublin in Ireland, and an MSc in Foundations of Clinical Psychology from Bangor University in Wales. My MSc research evaluated the effectiveness of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy in lessening emotional distress.
I will complete my Diploma in Online Therapeutic Counselling in December, and I have completed Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, ASIST.
I am an integrative therapist, drawing on elements of mindfulness based approaches, solution focused brief therapy & narrative therapy. During counselling, I offer a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment where you can explore any difficulties you may be having. As a member of the British Psychological Society, I adhere to the Code of Conduct of the BPS, which sets an ethical standard that informs my therapeutic practice.
I work with children, adolescents and adults from all walks of life, with all kinds of issues including:
• Sadness, continual nervousness and self-esteem issues
• Compulsive behaviours
• Stress and despair related to Chronic illnesses
• Challenging behaviours in children and adolescents
• Quality of life issues
• Feeling “stuck”
• Body image issues
