About Me

I was born in 1985 in New York, USA and brought up in Feldafing, Germany. I consider both countries my home and have lived on and off throughout my personal and professional life in Bavaria, California and New York. Also, I am a mother of two children and love to travel the world with my Scottish husband. Having so many cultural influences shaped me to become an open-minded and non-judgmental therapist. I became curious in how our culture and environment and consequent struggles affect emotional and mental health.

Psychotherapy and Counselling

My educational background includes a Master of Arts in School Psychology from the University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wyoming. These degrees enable me to provide a wide array of services, such as diagnostics, clinical psychotherapy and psychological counseling. In Germany, I work as a psychologist (Dipl. Psychologin) and psychotherapist according to the “Heilpraktikergesetz”.

My work experience ranges from outpatient private practice, to schools and inpatient treatment centers. I am lucky to have worked as a clinical therapist alongside leading eating disorder specialist in the US and attended several trainings regarding the treatment of eating disorder and feeding issues in Children, including the Stanford’s Children Hospital in California.

My career took me into the treatment centres of Dr. Anita Johnston’s (author of Eating in the light of the moon) where I worked as a therapist providing individual and group psychotherapy.

No one shoe fits all

I work with all age ranges, children (2+), adolescents and adults. I draw from different therapy approaches, such as play therapy and expressional therapy for children, as well as behavioral elements and analytical elements in my work with adolescents and adults. And I believe that “no one shoe fits all”. You are the expert in your life and together we will establish your unique treatment plan based on your needs.

My approach is mostly humanistic based on Carl Rogers and I would consider myself an integrative therapist. I believe that a disorder or problem is like a weed. You can keep trimming it back, but unless you dig out the roots, it will always grow back. It is your weed. I will help you trim it while we dig out the roots together. At any point during our work together, I am there to support and guide you, but you are in charge.
