About Me

My name is Amanda Hoffmann, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counsellor in the State of Massachusetts (License No. 11852). I am originally from Rhode Island but prior to moving to Germany I was living and working in Boston, Massachusetts. In 2015, I moved to Germany with my family. I currently live in Hamburg, with my husband and two children. I offer individual therapy for adults and couples therapy.

I have experience in being an expat, as well as a mother living in a new country where I did not speak the language. As a therapist, I would like to assist others in adjusting to their new home and offering therapy services in English. Although I am a native English speaker, I am also happy to offers sessions in German upon request.

Areas of Specialization

I offer therapeutic services to adults and couples utilizing evidence based therapies and providing a supportive non-judgemental environmnet to assist each individual in reaching their goals. I understand that every individual is unique, which is why I offer an eclectic approcach to best support each individual that I work with. Specifically, I have been clinically trained in CBT and DBT, which are evidence based approaches that have been shown to be effective in treating various psychological disorders.

Availability

Due to the current Covid-19 situation, I am only offering online therapy. I am located in Hamburg, Germany, and will be evaluating in-person appointments as the current situation develops. I am available Monday-Friday starting from 9 am-2pm and also offer evening appointments.
